چکیده

In this paper, we present a gas dispersal simulation package which integrates OpenFOAM flow simulation and a filament-based gas propagation model to simulate gas dispersion for compressible flows with a realistic turbulence model. Gas dispersal simulation can be useful for many applications. In this paper, we focus on the evaluation of statistical gas distribution models. Simulated data offer several advantages for this purpose, including the availability of ground truth information, repetition of experiments with the exact same constraints and that intricate issue which come with using real gas sensors can be avoided. Apart from simulation results obtained in a simulated wind tunnel (designed to be equivalent to its real-world counterpart), we present initial results with time-independent and timedependent statistical modelling approaches applied to simulated and real-world data.

A Fully Integrated Approach for Better Determination of Fracture Parameters Using Streamline Simulation; A gas condensate reservoir case study in Iran

Many large oil and gas fields in the most productive world regions happen to be fractured. The exploration and development of these reservoirs is a true challenge for many operators. These difficulties are due to uncertainties in geological fracture properties such as aperture, length, connectivity and intensity distribution. To successfully address these challenges, it is paramount to im...

Simulation of gas-liquid two phase flow in upriser pipe of gas-lift systems

Gas-lift pumps are devices for lifting liquid phase incorporating the gas phase to be injected in the bottom of liquid column. They are widely used in various industrial applications such as oil extracting in petroleum industries. Gas-liquid flow being the main part of the flow through these systems, flowing in vertical pipes of gas-lift pumps has different regimes namely bubbly, slug, chur...

CFD Simulation of a Wetted-Wall Column for Natural Gas Sweetening ‎Using DEA Solution

Natural gas usually contains significant amounts of acid gases when it is extracted from underground reservoirs. Therefore, it must be treated by appropriate processes to remove these acidic components. In this study, the simultaneous absorption of carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulfide from natural gas into diethanol amine solution was simulated using CFD. Absorption process was performed in a we...

Numerical Simulation of the Hydrodynamics of a Two-Dimensional Gas—Solid Fluidized Bed by New Finite Volume Based Finite Element Method

n this work, computational fluid dynamics of the flow behavior in a cold flow of fluidized bed is studied. An improved finite volume based finite element method has been introduced to solve the two-phase gas/solid flow hydrodynamic equations. This method uses a collocated grid, where all variables are located at the nodal points. The fluid dynamic model for gas/solid two-phase flow is based on ...
